From ANTIQUITY to CONTEMPORARY ART
The exhibition co-curated by Fabrizio Modina for M-Cube Foundation and Contemporanea Progetti at the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego, sheds light on how those we worship today through action figures, comics and blockbuster films are merely reinterpretations of ancient Greek, Roman and Norse gods and mythological figures… and how their influence extends even further, drawing on Indian, Arabic, Asian and African mythologies and other lesser-known world cultures, enriching our idols with meaning and detail.
Modern Mythology is a vast network connecting time and space, interweaving cultures and generations. It embodies a global fusion of myths, traditions, stories and iconography, uniting peoples around the world. This collective heritage with deep roots in our past offers interesting insights into our present and becomes a model for shaping visionary ideas and possible futures. It is a magma of knowledge and inspiration that accompanies us through our days, enriching our cultural background and influencing some of our choices, sometimes without us realizing it.
Superheroes permeate our world. They inhabit our cities, adorn the walls of children’s bedrooms, fill the shelves of bookshops and sometimes walk among us. They are an integral part of our cultural fabric, woven into the stories of children and adults alike.
