Our collaborator and artist Chiara Masiero Sgrinzatto is in Linz these days, on the occasion of ARS ELECTRONICA, for the presentation of her work as part of the project:
EGON SCHIELE – A PERSONAL ENCOUNTER
VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCE by GERDA LEOPOLD
It is a cold night in late October 1918, just before the end of World War I. Vienna is blighted by disease and hunger.
Egon Schiele (1890-1918) – played by Lukas Watzl – caught in a febrile delirium, begins to draw a portrait of us in his studio, while involving us in an intense conversation.
Through flashbacks, we delve into the world of Vienna 1900 and experience key moments from Schiele’s life.
The Virtual Reality experience Egon Schiele – A Personal Encounter is not only a tribute to Schiele’s artistic oeuvre but also an innovative opportunity to experience his life up close and personal. Schiele tells his story and asks us questions, with our answers influencing the storyline – making this our own, deeply personal encounter with Egon Schiele. For around 30 minutes, we find ourselves in fin de siècle Vienna, experiencing the world of a young artist, his visions, his creative process, and the resistance he faced.
