The fashion industry is redefining its paradigm through the integration of advanced technologies, fostering the development of digital fashion. With the evolution of Metaverses and the growing application of Artificial Intelligence, the digital fashion market is assuming an increasingly strategic role, with significant implications both in the virtual and physical fashion sectors. This is driven by the development of fully digital solutions or innovative wearable items for the real-world market, made possible by advanced technologies in molding, weaving, and garment production.
At the same time, the gaming industry—which has strengthened its ties with fashion in recent years—represents another area of application. Gaming platforms, from MMOs to immersive virtual worlds, have contributed to the rise of fashion aesthetics in digital environments, with games like The Sims and Animal Crossing: New Horizons featuring collaborations with luxury brands such as Chanel, Gucci, Versace, Valentino, and Louis Vuitton.
The program we offer is designed for industry professionals who wish to enhance their skills in digital tailoring, expanding their knowledge of the software and techniques needed to create garments and entire collections primarily for avatars and virtual figures. The course will give you the opportunity to create products for platforms such as Fortnite, collaborate with brands that are innovating in the fashion industry, and work alongside professionals from complementary sectors. You will gain advanced tools to interpret and anticipate the trends of digital fashion and phygital fashion.

Concept Art 2D

Lecturer: Marco Natale

This module, designed with a strong practical focus, aims to refine your professional skills in digital artistic drawing, with a specific emphasis on representing the dressed human figure, both in static poses and in movement. The program places special attention on the expression of gestures and lines of force, essential for infusing dynamism into compositions and making the interaction between the body and clothing believable.
You will refine techniques for handling drapery, studying how fabrics behave in relation to different body types and types of movement, as well as rendering materials such as leather goods and footwear. The course also includes a deep dive into the design of fantasy and Sci-Fi costumes, guiding you to explore stylistic solutions that integrate innovative structural elements.

Blender

Lecturer: Leonardo Assom

Among the essential software for 3D modeling, Blender stands out as a key tool for rigging, animation, compositing, and rendering high-definition 3D images. Its professional use is crucial in the training of a digital fashion designer, providing indispensable skills for virtual design.
This course will allow you to specialize in Blender, with a focus on advanced modeling techniques applied to fashion, model optimization, and rendering processes tailored to various fields, including videogames, cinema, static images, and video production.

Virtual garments

Lecturer: Gabriele Votta

The use of Marvelous Designer software will allow you to develop advanced skills in the digital creation of clothing for avatars, integrating the roles of fashion designer, pattern maker, and tailor into a single educational experience. The course will help you foster a synergy between technical knowledge and creativity, combining the physical, tactile experience of tailoring with the proficiency in advanced digital tools.
The program focuses on designing essential garments like T-shirts, shirts, pants, skirts, and outerwear, but also tackles more complex challenges such as women’s dresses, lingerie, capes, and optimizing the garments’ appearance based on fabric physics and climatic conditions.

Garment finalization and integration into the Metaverse

Lecturer: Leonardo Assom

The ultimate goal of a digital fashion designer is to showcase their creations in the Metaverse, with their designs worn by characters in immersive virtual environments. Through the advanced integration of software like Marvelous Designer, Blender, and ZBrush, you will learn how to develop projects intended for digital universes, defining your creative concept precisely and structuring high-poly models. The training path includes in-depth study of key techniques such as Cloth Simulation, Retopology, and the use of Substance Painter for advanced material management.
Additionally, the use of Unreal Editor for Fortnite allows you to take your creative process a step further, enabling the direct visualization and implementation of your designs on the platform. This expands opportunities for experimentation, distribution, and the virtual marketplace. By mastering these tools and techniques, you will gain the skills to bring your fashion creations to life in the Metaverse, exploring new possibilities for digital fashion and beyond.

Advanced techniques for clothing & prop creation

Lecturer: Daniele Angelozzi

Attention to detail and the pursuit of maximum realism are distinguishing elements in a digital artwork, helping to demonstrate the competence and professionalism of an artist. This level of perfection is crucial not only in the virtual context but also in the potential conversion of models into three-dimensional objects through 3D printing.
This module will provide you with an in-depth exploration of advanced techniques for creating hyper-realistic digital clothing and accessories, including footwear, leather goods, hats, and special props. Key tools and methodologies such as low poly modeling, dynamesh, mesh slicing, zremesher, and patch extraction will be covered. Additionally, the creation of thickness and advanced model management using specific tools and grouping systems will be explored. By the end of the course, you will refine your skills in using UVs for optimal texture management and deepen your sculpting techniques for microprops—essential elements to elevate the detail to the highest level

History of Modern Mythology

Lecturer: Fabrizio Modina

Like every form of art and contemporary language, Modern Mythology remains today a field that is not yet fully codified, lacking a structured critical framework and in-depth research that analyzes its cultural evolution.
This module offers a path that explores generational identification with the heroes and narrative universes born from animation, comics, video games, television, and literature. The goal is to refine your ability to analyze and envision, helping you recognize the anthropological, narrative, and symbolic value of these cultural assets.
Furthermore, alongside the heroes of history and fantasy, the contemporary world is generating new mythologies: real figures from music, fashion, sports, and cinema, already consecrated as icons of the 20th and 21st centuries.
This course will provide you with critical tools and inspiration for research, through a narrative that speaks your language and helps you connect seemingly distant themes that are, in reality, deeply interconnected.
Through an interdisciplinary approach, you will rediscover ancient cultural heritage, explore traditions distant in both space and time, and understand the dynamics that link the past and present, building a new professional identity capable of connecting various areas of knowledge and recognizing the great authors and creators of our era.

Fabric Transition

Lecturers: Gabriele Votta / Fabrizio Modina

This theoretical and practical course will offer you an in-depth analysis of the materials and components that define the construction of a garment or costume in the real world. Each fabric represents the structural backbone of the design, determining its aesthetics, fit, and interaction with the environment. Therefore, a detailed knowledge of material characteristics is essential, especially when the transition from physical to digital requires the ability to faithfully preserve texture, draping, and light behavior. The course will allow you to accurately translate the properties of materials into the virtual world, ensuring realism and visual consistency in your digital projects.
