From November 19 to 21, we will be in Córdoba, Argentina, for SiGradi 2025 – Meta Responsive Approaches, to present our research work:
See the Invisible: Using Generative AI to Represent Mythical Layers in Immersive Panoramas, while understanding more about “Eternal Cities”
Together with the artist Chiara Masiero Sgrinzatto, we will showcase and discuss how generative artificial intelligence (AI) can be combined with handmade immersive drawing to assist artists in visualizing the mythological dimensions of urban spaces.
The focal point of this study is “iconic cities,” which are those urban environments that, in our world and throughout history, have acquired a powerful mythological allure that transcends time. These cities contain both physical and intangible layers that influence human perception through their cultural, historical, and imaginative resonance.
The objective of this study is to investigate the potential of generative AI to enhance artistic practice by uncovering these latent narratives, generating new meanings, and facilitating more profound spatial storytelling. This study contributes to ongoing debates concerning the convergence of digital media, urban representation, and artistic research. The initial phase of the research underpinning this paper is centered on a case study of New York City.
