How do superheroes fly? Is it really possible to become invisible? Could today’s research one day turn imaginary superpowers into reality?
Through a series of hands-on scientific workshops designed for primary and lower secondary school students, participants will explore the fascinating connection between imagination, research, and innovation. Guided by the stories of superheroes—many of whom are scientists, researchers, or inventors themselves—they will discover how science shapes the world around us and helps address some of society’s greatest challenges.
Hosted by Novara Sviluppo in collaboration with the University of Eastern Piedmont (UNIPO) and the region’s chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the workshops will give young participants the opportunity to step inside the world of research through engaging experiments and interactive activities. Together, they will uncover the scientific principles behind some of the most iconic “superpowers” and learn how scientific discoveries improve everyday life.
The programme is designed to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy while inspiring future generations to pursue studies and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), with particular attention to encouraging girls and young women to explore these fields.
These themed workshops are part of a broader programme promoting dialogue between science and society and may be repeated throughout the year in response to requests from schools, helping to strengthen the relationship between education, research, innovation, and the local community.
