The news spread around the globe as if it were an alien invasion: Anna Wintour is stepping down. The super-mega director of Vogue America announced that she has left her role as editor-in-chief after a career that began in 1988, while still taking on an “overview” position across all Condé Nast publications, particularly the international editions of Vogue.
So, de facto, the lady has no intention of retiring.
Allow me to add: what a pity!

If there is a common denominator in the fashion industry—and, above all, in fashion journalism—it is the subservience to figures who have managed to build and cement over the years a centralizing and hegemonic position, which does not always coincide with the true value of their professionalism, especially when measured over the very long term.
