On Tuesday 12 November, the Berlin-based Matters of Activity cluster and the M-Cube Foundation kick off the first workshop dedicated to green experimentation and innovation, starting with biomaterials.
The M-Cube project aims to become a pilot case in Turin, a real sandbox in which Nature finds its home and in which all living beings – be they humans, animals, plants or bacteria – can operate in synergy. The main objective is to understand and learn how structures and infrastructures, contents and functions cannot be thought of outside a complex and wonderful ecosystem.
The workshop will be introduced by Wolfgang Schäffner, contact person for Matters of Activity and his Activarium, and Fabrizio Modina, President of the M-Cube Foundation.
The programme includes three chapters.
Ecological Material Activity
Fiber Structures – Natalja Miodragovic
Interfaces: Phase Change / Thermodynamics of Architecture – Iva Resetar, Maxie Schneider and Dimitra Almpani-Lekka
Object/Space/Agency: Open Lab
Material Speculations – Maxime Le Calvé, Heidi Jalkh, Rasa Weber, Karola Dierichs
Virtual/Physical Matter and Space – Christian Stein
Building with Nature
Light by bacteria – Germain Briand (Glowee)
